Temple Street
Temple Street is Hong Kong’s most famous open-air market, which only comes to life at dusk. The street is filled with numerous little stalls, selling all types of goods from cheap souvenirs to casual clothing and watches. Don’t forget to bargain for your favorites!

In addition to shopping, Temple Street is also a place to experience local dining culture. Numerous of food stalls are located on both sides of the street, selling sorts of local favorites, such as Hot Pot Rice, rice dish served in a porcelain pot. If you want to have something sweet, visit Chung Kee Desert for its well-known delicious assorted beans sweet soup - Ja Ja.

Shanghai Street
Extending from Jordan to Mongkok, Shanghai Street is one of the oldest streets in Hong Kong. There is an array of cooking utensil shops, which supply all culinary necessities to most Hong Kong restaurants. Apart from bamboo steam baskets to professional chef’s chopping boards, some special cooking utensils used for making local snacks can also be found, such as traditional mooncake wooden mould and porcelain pot for making red bean porcelain pot pudding.

Yue Hwa Chinese Products
If you fancy Chinese culture, don’t miss Yue Hwa, a department chain store specialized in products of this ancient country. Here located on the bustling and hustling Nathan Road is the main store of Yue Hwa. Apart from Chinese arts and crafts, the 6-storey Yue Hwa offers a wide range of Chinese products, including foodstuffs, Chinese herbs and medicines, household goods, etc. The prices here are somewhat more affordably than Chinese Arts & Crafts.

Ying Kee Tea House
Ying Kee Tea House was established in Guangzhou in 1881 and moved to Hong Kong in 1950. With 125 years of tea-processing experience, it offers 70 assortments of taste.
 
Their signature tea is Pu Er tea from Yunan. Good Pu Er tea is usually compressed into a cake shape, known as tea cake, and is wrapped with paper. The older the Pu Er tea, the more aromatic and valuable it is. An aged premium Pu Er tea cake can cost you as high as HK$20,000. Another famous tea of the Tea House is and oolong tea from Fujian or Taiwan. A few packs of Chinese tea would make it a good souvenir to let your family and friends share the faint fragrance with you.

Even if the Tea House has gone through a refurbishment earlier in early 2006, it still keeps its original atmosphere that traditional red iron tea containers can still be seen everywhere. Everyday, the Tea House’s reputation attracts a huge number of tourists around the world.

Stepping into Chinese Arts & Crafts makes you feel like visiting a miniature of a Chinese arts museum. Here in this first local department store specializing in what its name says, you can find the finest embroidery, silk fabric, traditional Chinese fashion, handicrafts, porcelain and jewellery, etc. Although they sell mainly high end and luxurious products, it still worthwhile to have a visit and get yourself immersed in the spirit and the invaluable essence of Chinese culture. Do remember to buy a Mandarin Dress (Cheong Sam), the signature product of the shop!
